Summertime is typically a more relaxed time. Enjoy your leisure, but keep alert for your personal, emotional, and spiritual safety. Regular visits with God are vital.  "Twitter" is the latest "In" thing to do.  However, Twittering -- by another name has been around for ages with Christians. We call it, "Flash Prayers," or "Dart Prayers," or a variety of other names.  So, keep "Twittering" --- with God!

Please Note!! We use PayPal to handle your secure donations:  When you go to our "943 Club" page where recurring donations may be made-- a "Suspicious Website" notice may pop up from your ISP. This temporary malfunction, and the notice may continue to pop up until we resolve an internal posting notice. However, PayPal guarantees secure donations, so you need not fear. We hope to have this issue resolved very soon.

You now have the opportunity to make secure recurring donations via major Debit or Credit Cards, or your bank.  Visit our "943 Club" page and "subscribe" to make your donation recurring...

Reminder:  The Legislative Session begun on January 12 concluded on Friday, April 3.  We regret that it did not devote much attention to the common good.  Turf guarding, egos, political agendas dominated the session.

The final session of the 2009-2010 Term begins January 11, 2010.  On Sunday, January 10, 2010, Please join congregations across Georgia as they observe The Annual Georgia Day of Prayer For Moral Leadership. Please pray for strong moral leadership from our legislators.

Please see our Prayer page for information on observing the day.

Read Dr. Moore's letter to the Editor of the AJC #1 on our Gambling page.  (as of March 26, it has not been published; watch the AJC to see if it does get published.)  You may feel free to copy and send it to your own newspaper editors.

Also, read Dr. Moore's Testimony before the Regulated Industries Committee on February 18, 2009, on our ISSUES AND ANSWERS page.

 A friend contacted us with the following inquiry:

I have recently become acquainted with a group that works to help female children when they are trapped in prostitution (yes, children…pre-teen to under 18yo).  It is a well-formed coalition supported by the Atlanta Women’s League and the Juvenile Justice Foundation.  Would your organization want to help with that concern? If so, I’d be happy to refer you to folks with that group.  It’s called “A Future Not a Past,” AFNAP.

We have offered to open communication with this group, in that we have supported legislation in this vein before.  Keep in touch.

We have moved our office!  Please see our updated information at our "Contact Us" Page. Only our physical address and mailing address changed.  E-mail, Web, and telephone remain the same.
If your community is facing the problem of encroaching night clubs which usually sell alcoholic beverages into the wee hours of the night, please contact us.  There are helps available.

The GCMCC booth was well received at the two United Methodist Conferences in June and at the Georgia Baptist Convention in November.  A number of people stopped by, had mints, chocolate, and picked up literature.  Also we picked up additions to our Legislative Alert list.

If your denomination is interested in working with GCMCC, and/or has a conference/convention scheduled, contact us and we will be happy to bring our exhibit and set up a booth.  We will need to have an official contact person, so please be prepared to help us along these lines.

At the right on this page, see our Conference display booth.  Please visit our booth in the exhibit area when you attend one of the South or North Georgia United Methodist Conference, each June,  or the Georgia Baptist Convention in November.  We invite you to pick up free literature, mints, view a video or PowerPoint, or just visit. We are collecting E-mail addresses of persons interested in our periodic newsletter.  It will keep you abreast of current and upcoming issues.

...more details on Conferences and Conventions display booth;
The display booth is completely updated.  New posters include the 943 Club (see that webpage on this site,) a new Annual Georgia Day of Prayer Poster with changeable date plates, a fabulous new headliner banner with our updated logo on it, and new handouts for attendees to take home.  In addition two PowerPoint Presentations now run during the conferences.  One is from the CDC with  scientific data on the dangers of alcohol abuse.  This P Pt was presented at the Fall meeting of the American Council on Alcohol Problems.  The other P Pt presentation came through the Civil Air Patrol Chaplaincy, and it deals with the horrifying results of  methamphetamine use and abuse.  It is graphic!
